The Role:As a Banker Mason / Stonemason, you will be responsible for working with natural stone within a specialist workshop environment, producing and finishing bespoke masonry components to detailed drawings and specifications.Your responsibilities will include:
- Cutting, shaping and finishing natural stone by hand.
- Producing bespoke architectural and structural stonework to precise specifications.
- Working from detailed drawings, templates and specifications.
- Hand-finishing stone following initial CNC and machine processes.
- Producing detailed and intricate masonry, including mouldings, arches, columns, staircases and other architectural features.
- Working with a variety of natural stones.
- Maintaining excellent standards of accuracy, finish and craftsmanship.
- Working alongside a skilled team of masons and other workshop specialists.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.
About You:The ideal candidate will be an experienced Banker Mason, Stonemason or Stone Carver with a strong understanding of traditional masonry techniques and a genuine passion for working with natural stone.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Banker Mason or in a similar stonemasonry workshop role.
- Strong hand-carving and stone-finishing skills.
- Experience working with natural stone.
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- A strong understanding of traditional stonemasonry techniques.
- A commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team.
