Principal Planning Officer – Major Applications Staffordshire £55-£60 per hour (Inside IR35) 37 Hours per week

n My client is looking to source an experienced Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team in Staffordshire, focusing on a caseload of major planning applications.

n This is an opportunity for an experienced planning professional to work on a range of new major applications, typically involving developments of between 50 and 150 residential units. The role will focus on managing applications through the planning process, with no n management responsibilities or application sign-off duties.

n Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a caseload of major planning applications, typically involving developments of 50-150 units.

n

• Assessing and progressing new major applications through the Development Management process.

n

• Reviewing planning submissions and assessing proposals against relevant planning policies and legislation.

n

• Liaising with applicants, developers, consultants and statutory consultees.

n

• Preparing planning reports and recommendations.

n

• Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure applications progress efficiently and within agreed timescales.

The successful candidate will have strong Development Management experience, with a proven background in handling major planning applications. The ability to manage a varied caseload, assess complex proposals and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders will be important.

n This role would suit an experienced Planning Officer or Principal Planning Officer who enjoys working on major applications and wants to focus on casework rather than management or sign-off responsibilities. Hybrid working is offered, with an expectation to attend the office approximately one day per week.

n The role is offered on an initial 6-month contract, working 37 hours per week, with a rate of £55-£60 per hour Inside IR35.
