Hire Manager

Overview

In this Hire Manager role, you will drive sales performance at the Edinburgh branch by executing a proactive sales plan. You will help integrate Hire into the wider Travis Perkins network, boosting knowledge of services among branch colleagues and sharing coaching where needed. You’ll lead a small team in a busy environment, ensuring high service standards and safe, available equipment. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on customer solutions and driving growth within a regional network.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sales action plan to exceed targets
• Coach and train the team in tool hire alongside the Branch Manager
• Ensure all tools and equipment are safe, maintained, and ready for use
• Balance stock levels to match demand
• Lead, train, and motivate the Hire team for high performance
• Provide excellent customer service and upsell solutions
• Maintain clear communication with the branch through daily toolbox talks

Key requirements

• Experience in tool hire, plant hire, or a leadership role; sales or customer service experience also welcome
• Proven leadership ability to inspire and drive a team
