Quality Engineering – Associate Manager – London

Overview

In this role you will stay hands-on with coding while growing tooling strategy and team leadership across client engagements. You will define, implement, and refine automation frameworks to scale delivery and quality. You’ll assess QE maturity, identify gaps, and chart improvement roadmaps. You lead and mentor a QE automation team and collaborate with senior managers on quality strategies. A key hook is driving GenAI-enabled tooling adoption to elevate testing at scale.

Responsibilities

• Write and review automation scripts; evolve frameworks and set technical standards through contribution
• Define and own tooling strategies and automation frameworks across client accounts
• Conduct QE framework assessments and maturity evaluations with clear improvement roadmaps
• Lead and mentor a QE automation engineering team
• Support development and execution of Quality Engineering strategies with senior management
• Manage client relationships at project level and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Drive adoption of GenAI tooling (e.g., Playwright with MCP, GitHub Copilot, Claude) within the team
• Contribute to internal QE community initiatives and establish team standards and best practices

Key requirements

• Hands-on coding and technical credibility in automation
• Proficiency in at least one OOP language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or C#)
• Experience with GenAI in QE context and AI-assisted coding tools
• Ability to define tooling strategies and automation frameworks
• Experience leading or mentoring a QE or automation engineering team
• Several years of modern Quality Engineering practices including automated testing
• Good client-facing skills and ability to communicate with diverse stakeholders
