Software Engineer

Overview

Join a growing engineering team to design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot. Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications and services using Java and Spring Boot
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs to support business-critical systems
• Contribute to frontend development using Vue.js and Node.js
• Deliver software solutions across the full development lifecycle from design to deployment and support
• Write clean, well-tested code with high quality standards
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Delivery teams to deliver solutions
• Support CI/CD pipelines, automation and DevOps practices to improve delivery
• Troubleshoot issues, optimise performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Key requirements

• Proven commercial software engineering experience
• Strong backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and scalable backend services
• Experience with Node.js for applications or services
• Exposure to frontend technologies, ideally Vue.js
• Understanding of software design principles and coding standards
• Experience writing automated tests and maintaining code quality
• Familiarity with AWS or cloud platforms
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, Git and DevOps practices
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across technical teams
