Building Services Engineer – Electrical

Overview

As Electrical Mobile Building Services Engineer, you will support critical facilities in London by performing maintenance and statutory compliance checks. You’ll apply basic plumbing, electrical and fabric maintenance skills within a facilities management context, engaging with clients professionally and maintaining a smart appearance. You will plan, inspect, and repair, and respond to breakdowns promptly to minimize disruption. You’ll work with subcontractors and provide technical guidance while ensuring safety and proper site documentation. This role offers hands-on impact in a high-demand environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, inspect, and perform repairs or preventative maintenance
• Carry out reactive and planned services across offices, commercial, distribution and industrial premises
• Perform statutory inspections (Emergency Lighting, Water Temperature checks, Fire Door inspections, Plumbing, Lighting) and minor repairs
• Support client engagement and manage contractor activities on site
• Provide technical guidance to the client and contract support
• Carry out minor building fabric repairs and ensure work meets specifications and Health & Safety rules
• Maintain site documentation and records

Key requirements

• IT literate with Word, Excel and similar tools
• Experience in a comparable role with basic plumbing, carpentry, redecoration and statutory ppm inspections
• Understanding of planned preventative maintenance regimes
• Experience completing risk assessments and method statements; issuing permit to work for hard services tasks
• Experience using BMS system
• Knowledge of maintenance schedules and SFG 20 desirable
• Ability to record work accurately on worksheets and computer systems
• Full UK driving license
