Director Customer Technology Advisor – Mainframe

As a Customer Technology Advisor, you join Kyndryl’s Go-To-Market team to drive AI-powered technology solutions for customers. You will lead pre-sales efforts, support cross-functional delivery, and design strategic, modernization-focused architectures. Your role blends customer-facing demos, technical authority, and alliance partnerships to create differentiated value. Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate pre-sales to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions
• Support Consulting, Advisory, and Architecture activities across Sales, Pre-Sales, and Delivery
• Develop strategic solutions by mapping complex customer needs to Kyndryl capabilities
• Design and execute modernization plans, integrating mainframe databases with cloud platforms
• Drive collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for winning responses and architectures
• Nurture alliance partnerships to co-create joint offerings
• Develop and deliver demos, proofs of concept, and prototypes to show value
• Showcase technical authority as a subject matter expert across practice subdomains

Key requirements

• Deep domain knowledge of service offerings and technical solutions in a consulting context
• Experience translating complex technical knowledge into actionable customer insights and strategic solutions
• Proven background in consultative selling and pre-sales architecture
• External certifications supporting relevant subdomain areas (e.g., Application Data & AI, Cloud, Core Enterprise & zCloud, Digital Workplace, Network & Edge, Security & Resiliency)
• Proficiency in IBM mainframe infrastructure, z/OS, middleware (CICS, DB2, IMS), and replication solutions
• Strong background in mainframe DB2 system programming, DBA responsibilities, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and optimization
• Experience designing and executing system modernization and cloud integration strategies
• Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or IT-related field
• Preferred: experience selling and delivering technical services to multi-industry enterprise customers
