Senior BI Analyst

Overview

In this role you will design, deliver and continuously improve BI reports and analytics to support operations, customer services, finance and commercial teams. You will combine Power BI and Fabric expertise with business insight to translate needs into trusted information products for senior stakeholders. As a technical lead, you will mentor colleagues and promote best practices to drive measurable business value. This role supports a shift toward automated, data-driven decision making that underpins a more sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver management reports, dashboards and analysis for stakeholders across Biffa
• Lead BI and reporting projects from requirements and design through to implementation and adoption
• Partner with business teams to understand challenges, define meaningful measures and identify opportunities to create value
• Present complex analysis clearly to senior stakeholders, highlighting critical issues, trends and opportunities
• Create and enhance Power BI products and Fabric data models that are accurate, intuitive, performant and trusted
• Drive effective use of BI products through stakeholder engagement, training, usage monitoring and continuous improvement
• Act as a technical specialist within the BI team, reviewing outputs and mentoring and supporting other business teams
• Keep up to date with Microsoft data technologies, software developments and BI best practice

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in a business-facing BI, reporting or analytical role
• Advanced experience developing reports, dashboards and semantic models in Power BI
• Proven success leading and delivering BI or management information projects
• Strong SQL, data modelling and analytical skills, including experience working with Fabric
• Experience eliciting business requirements and translating them into clear technical specifications and valuable information products
• Ability to interpret complex data and present clear, compelling insights to non-technical and senior audiences
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, planning and problem-solving skills
• Experience coaching, mentoring or providing technical guidance to other analysts
