Meica Estimator

Overview

As a MEICA Estimator, you will develop detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for MEICA projects in the water sector, partnering with project, commercial and delivery teams to shape competitive bids. You’ll define project scopes, source quotations, and construct cost plans to support award of major water and wastewater contracts. You will also assist during mobilisation to ensure a smooth handover from tender to delivery. This role sits within a contractor pursuing a strong AMP8 project pipeline in the Southern region, offering meaningful impact on large-scale infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed MEICA estimates and tender submissions for water and wastewater projects
• Review client specifications, drawings and technical documentation
• Develop project scopes and identify cost-effective delivery solutions
• Produce labour, plant, materials and subcontractor cost build-ups
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
• Manage technical and commercial tender queries
• Assess project risks and opportunities throughout the tender process
• Work collaboratively with commercial, engineering and operational teams
• Support value engineering initiatives and innovative delivery solutions
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, industry standards and governance procedures
• Monitor project outcomes against tender assumptions and incorporate lessons learned into future bids

Key requirements

• Previous experience as a MEICA Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, Electrical Estimator or Proposals Engineer
• Strong understanding of MEICA systems, equipment and installation practices
• Experience within the water and wastewater sector
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Knowledge of water treatment and wastewater treatment processes
• Understanding of NEC contracts and framework delivery models
• Experience producing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• HNC, HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
