About CDS
CDS develops and supports CODAS, an ERP platform designed around the day-to-day realities of fuel distribution. For over 50 years, we have combined software expertise with practical industry knowledge.
Our customers depend on CODAS to run their businesses. We build long-term relationships, give honest advice and deliver on our commitments, while continuing to invest in our people, services and software.
The opportunity
Take ownership of a portfolio of CODAS customers, combining commercial account management with practical, day-to-day customer support.
Your priority will be making sure customers feel supported, their concerns are addressed and they get value from CODAS. You’ll understand their businesses, maintain proactive contact and become someone they can turn to for questions, advice and guidance.
You’ll help customers make better use of what they already have and recommend additional software or services where these meet a genuine need. Empathy, honesty and reliable follow-through are central to the role, supported by experienced colleagues across CDS.
What you’ll do
- Build trusted relationships with customer decision-makers and operational teams, recognising when a conversation, visit or deeper review would help.
- Respond to ad-hoc questions, provide useful guidance and involve specialists where needed.
- Take a proactive interest in support tickets, contributing context, helping progress outstanding issues and coordinating escalations through to resolution.
- Understand customers’ priorities, future projects and use of CODAS, identifying opportunities for better adoption, training and operational improvements.
- Introduce relevant existing and upcoming functionality, drawing on customer examples while respecting confidentiality.
- Prepare quotations and proposals, and manage commercial and contractual discussions.
- Represent customer needs within CDS, seek feedback on our products and services and follow through on agreed actions.
- Keep account information and opportunities current, and work with colleagues to set realistic expectations.
What you’ll bring
Strong experience in at least one of these areas:
- Fuel distribution, particularly operations, sales or account management.
- Providing software, technology or services to the downstream fuel industry.
Practical CODAS experience would be a strong advantage. You do not need experience in every area or a previous Account Manager title; product and industry training will be provided.
You’ll listen carefully, communicate clearly and put customer service at the heart of your decisions. You’ll be comfortable discussing commercials, proactive in recognising what needs attention and able to take ownership of a brief and progress it independently, involving colleagues when needed.
What we offer
- Hybrid working and company car or car allowance.
- Option to buy and/or sell 5 days holiday each year.
- Pension, private healthcare and employee assistance programme.
- Death in service benefit and permanent health insurance.
- Product training, experienced colleagues and free onsite parking.
