SQL Database Administrator

Overview

In this role, you will own production database environments to ensure security, reliability, and resilience. You’ll work on complex client projects as part of a fast-growing IT transformation team, driving stability and performance improvements. You will collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to implement backups, DR plans, and access controls, shaping scalable database operations. This is a hands-on, impact-focused position with a clear path to advanced technical mastery within Netcompany’s growth agenda.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain production databases, investigating incidents and resolving service issues
• Monitor health, availability, and performance to identify improvement opportunities
• Execute and validate backups/restores and support disaster recovery arrangements
• Manage database access and apply changes through security and change control processes
• Create and share clear operational documentation with colleagues

Key requirements

• At least two years of experience supporting production systems with relational databases
• Passion for data and ongoing learning
• Logical, proactive mindset with ownership and team-oriented problem solving
• Ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning skills
• Understanding of database schemas, high availability, and disaster recovery
• Experience with backup strategies and recovery validation
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data migration approaches
• Knowledge of access controls and least privilege principle
• Ability to write reliable SQL and scripts, with safe production change practices
• Experience using monitoring tools to assess health and respond to alerts
• Eligibility for the required security clearance
