Senior Front-End Web Developer (AVP)

Overview

In this role you will help shape Citi’s web applications by building responsive UI with React and supporting backend services in Java. You’ll work with experienced engineers in a collaborative, mentorship‑driven environment and contribute to secure, scalable software used across global markets. The position blends frontend and backend work, emphasizing code quality, testing and teamwork. You’ll join a high‑scale tech team delivering impactful financial technology with opportunities for growth and hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain user interfaces using React.js
• Build and support backend services using Java and related frameworks
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews and team discussions
• Debug and resolve application issues
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver features
• Create and execute unit and integration tests
• Assist with database design and queries
• Learn and apply software development best practices

Key requirements

• Commercial experience with React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Understanding of Java
• Familiarity with REST APIs
• Knowledge of Git (version control)
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Basic understanding of SQL databases
• Object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience with Spring Boot and TypeScript would be advantageous
