NHS Co-ordinator

Overview

In this NHS Co-Ordinator role, you will manage booking for new and follow-up appointments across specialties within booking guidelines. You join a team of booking coordinators to deliver compassionate, efficient patient service and maintain accurate records. You will liaise with outpatient reception teams, secretaries and consultants, handling multiple urgent queries calmly and methodically. You help to support targets around patient waiting times and reduce NHS pressure. This role offers a values-driven environment with training and development within a large hospital group.

Responsibilities

• Book new and follow-up appointments and clinics across specialties within guidelines
• Deliver excellent customer service with empathy to patients
• Liaise with outpatient reception, secretaries and consultants
• Maintain calm, logical, and multi-tasking approach for urgent queries
• Ensure patient confidentiality and data protection compliance
• Maintain accurate records and operate within multi-disciplinary teams
• Collaborate within a larger booking coordinators team to reduce NHS pressure
• Support the department in meeting government targets around patient waiting times

Key requirements

• Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
• Experience dealing with patients and multi-disciplinary teams
