Head of Data Analytics & Insights

Overview

In this role you will lead the data analytics and insights capability for the General Counsel Function, shaping how legal data drives decision-making and performance. You will partner with cross-functional teams to set data standards, governance, and AI-ready reporting. You’ll design executive dashboards and oversee budgeting, demand, and spend analytics to optimise external counsel value. This is a chance to transform legal data into strategic decisions that support efficiency, resilience, and value delivery.

Responsibilities

• Drive the legal data and analytics strategy aligned to Legal Operations and GC priorities
• Establish data standards, taxonomies, metadata and governance to improve data quality, reporting and AI readiness
• Prepare and maintain datasets to support analytics, automation and AI-enabled solutions
• Design and deliver executive dashboards and reporting (Power BI) across in-house resourcing, legal demand, external counsel utilisation, legal spend, tech adoption and performance
• Provide reporting and insights to support the Legal Front Door and Knowledge Management Hub, including demand, routing, capacity, performance and service metrics
• Produce actionable insights to support prioritisation, resource allocation, budget management and optimisation of external counsel value
• Track and report on legal budget forecasting and spend
• Identify trends, risks, opportunities and improvement areas through analysis of legal and financial data
• Support the definition and implementation of KPIs aligned to legal strategy and service delivery objectives

Key requirements

• Data literacy across the General Counsel Function
• Strong ability to support colleagues in making insight-led decisions
• Data background in Legal Industry OR Finance Background in Legal Industry
