Finance Manager

Overview

In this role, you will own the day-to-day finance function and help shape a growing finance team within a fast-scaling sports business. You’ll manage financial operations, reporting, and controls, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive strategic decisions. The role focuses on robust financial governance, forecasting, and system improvements to support growth. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, actionable financial insights that influence board-level discussions. This is a hands-on opportunity to build processes and add real value through scale and commercial impact.

Responsibilities

• Own AP, AR, expenses, banking and balance sheet reconciliations
• Lead month-end close and management accounts with variance analysis
• Manage 13-week and 12-month cash forecasting
• Support budgets, reforecasts and departmental spend reviews
• Prepare FRS 102 financial statements and assist with annual audit
• Provide financial insight to senior stakeholders including the Board and Audit & Risk Committee
• Improve finance systems, processes and controls as the business scales
• Support commercial projects, risk management and strategic initiatives

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Strong experience in management accounts, financial reporting and cash forecasting
• Solid FRS 102 knowledge and accounting judgement
• Experience in a start-up, scale-up or high-growth environment
• Excellent Excel and financial systems capability
• Proactive, ownership-oriented approach
• Ability to communicate financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Experience in Sports, Media or Entertainment (desirable)
