SRM Portfolio Business Partner

Overview

In this role you influence how R&D resources are allocated across the portfolio by delivering a single, trusted view of headcount and capacity. You collaborate with senior leaders to align resources with portfolio priorities, surface constraints early, and model scenarios using AI and analytics. You act as a key adviser for investment and governance discussions, championing data-driven decisions and real-time resourcing visibility. This position blends strategic leadership with hands-on analytics to optimise delivery across R&D.

Responsibilities

• Provide a portfolio-wide view of FTE, resource and capacity data to enable optimal allocation across assets and projects
• Partner with senior stakeholders to align priorities with resource plans and highlight risks and trade-offs
• Deliver portfolio-wide FTE visibility to enable interrogation and sharing of insights
• Surface constraints proactively to ensure resources are optimised for delivery across R&D
• Model scenarios using AI/analytics to identify capacity gaps and crunch points at role level
• Broker trade-offs to align resources with top-priority projects across functions, BU, and geographies
• Inform governance discussions (dPR, SPR, PIB, QPR) with resourcing insights as a trusted advisor
• Use AI and analytics for portfolio-wide scenario planning and to surface capacity gaps across the portfolio
• Champion adoption of AI and analytics tools (dashboards, predictive models, automation) for real-time resourcing visibility

Key requirements

• Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry
• Extensive R&D experience with global resource management
• Experience linking resources with portfolio management; exposure to AI/data analytics is an advantage
• Previous matrix leadership and line management experience
• Proven ability to operate across organizational levels and drive complex outcomes
• Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders within R&D and external partners
