SAP Technical Lead

Overview

In this SAP Technical Lead role, you drive the design, development, and modernization of Agilent’s SAP landscape, including S/4HANA transformation and cloud integrations. You will lead technical direction across ECC and S/4HANA programs, mentor teams, and ensure scalable, secure SAP solutions. You work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical designs. This is a hands-on leadership position that shapes Agilent’s SAP architecture and modernization journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for SAP projects, enhancements, integrations, and modernization initiatives
• Lead technical solution design ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with enterprise standards
• Hands-on expertise across SAP ABAP, ABAP Objects, interfaces, workflows, APIs, IDocs, OData, CDS Views
• Guide transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA and modern SAP architectural practices
• Promote SAP Clean Core, custom-code optimization, and modern extensibility
• Review designs and development approaches for quality, performance, and standards
• Collaborate with functional teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Lead SAP integrations with enterprise apps and cloud platforms
• Establish and promote SAP technical standards, governance, and best practices
• Provide coaching and mentoring to internal teams and external partners
• Collaborate with partners on S/4HANA transformation, upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives
• Evaluate emerging SAP technologies to simplify and modernize the landscape
• Remain hands-on while providing technical direction and shaping future SAP landscape

Key requirements

• 8+ years of SAP technical experience with strong hands-on development and architecture
• 3+ years of leadership experience directing technical work and coordinating teams
• Strong hands-on SAP ABAP, ABAP Objects, enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, workflows, IDocs, APIs, OData, and CDS Views
• Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments
• Understanding of SAP technical architecture, integration, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
• Experience reviewing technical designs and establishing development standards
• Experience collaborating with functional teams, solution architects, stakeholders, and implementation partners
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor geographically distributed teams
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
• Preferred: S/4HANA transformation, SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, Fiori/UI5, RAP, side-by-side extensibility, SPDD/SPAU, global SAP environments
• Relevant SAP certifications preferred but not required
