Overview
In this role you will build automation-driven infrastructure software for a high-profile government programme. You will partner with cloud, platform and engineering teams to improve automation and reliability across complex environments. You’ll deliver scalable, production-grade code and tooling to reduce manual work and standardise infrastructure. This position blends software engineering with infrastructure, offering impact through platform engineering on secure enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities
- Develop automation frameworks and tooling with Python
- Create Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform
- Build reusable templates and code generation with Jinja2
- Automate Windows environments via PowerShell
- Manage configuration with Puppet
- Implement CI/CD integrations for infrastructure delivery
- Collaborate with cloud, platform and engineering teams to improve automation
- Drive standardisation, reliability and scalability of infrastructure across complex environments
Key requirements
- Strong commercial Python development experience
- Experience building automation tools or platforms
- Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience
- AWS cloud services experience
- Puppet configuration management experience
- CI/CD and DevOps automation experience
- Experience in cloud and hybrid infrastructures
