Senior Data Modeller

Overview

In this role you will define and shape the data that fuels Kingfisher’s Enterprise Data Warehouse. You translate business needs into robust data models, document source data, and ensure coherent, well‑documented designs that support clear, business‑ready insights. You’ll collaborate with data engineers and stakeholders to align with architectural principles, driving scalable data solutions and quality. This is a hands‑on, impact‑driven role in a hybrid, collaboration‑focused IT environment.

Responsibilities

• Design performant, user‑friendly data warehouse models for reporting and insights
• Translate business requirements into effective data model designs with stakeholders
• Identify, analyse, and document source systems and data with SMEs
• Develop and maintain logical and physical data models aligned with roadmap and architecture
• Define and maintain source‑to‑target mappings, transformations, and metadata
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Quality Engineers to support development, testing, and delivery; guide junior team members
• Support ad‑hoc work as needed

Key requirements

• Experience as a data modeller or data architect with modelling complex data
• Intermediate to advanced SQL querying skills
• Strong attention to detail and collaborative work style
• Experience in data quality management
• Desirable: Data lifecycle management experience
• Desirable: Experience with non‑tabular/event‑based data processing and Unity Catalog
