Multi-Skilled Engineer – Mechanical Bias

Overview

In this role, you will carry out planned and reactive maintenance on building systems, ensuring tasks meet defined SLAs and KPIs. You’ll support site safety, contractor oversight, and integrated service delivery to sustain contract profitability. You’ll complete service documentation and contribute to efficiency and quality across the team. This role offers steady, hands-on work within a large facilities management organization and a structured shift pattern that supports work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical building systems and related fabric repairs.
• Complete reactive work orders and preventive maintenance within contract SLAs and KPIs.
• Update service sheets and site compliance logbooks.
• Oversee contractor performance and workmanship to meet safety and quality standards.
• Assist the site supervisor in delivering contracted services safely, on time, and within budget.
• Provide on-call support according to the rota.

Key requirements

• Right to work in the UK
• Current, valid driving licence
• NVQ, or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services with proven maintenance experience
• Knowledge of safety documentation and site safety procedures
• CSCS Skills card or equivalent
• Understanding of First Aid
• IT literacy with basic Excel and Microsoft products
