Manager, Software Development – RQS

Overview

In this role, you will lead the Risk and Fraud R&D software development efforts, shaping strategic delivery for the SAS Stress Testing product. You drive hands-on technical execution while guiding a cross‑functional team to build secure, scalable solutions. You’ll collaborate with product, marketing, and customers to align direction with R&D standards and ensure quality across environments. Responsibilities

• Organize and prioritize resources to deliver high-quality, scalable software within timelines
• Lead design decisions and enforce technical standards across environments
• Oversee test management, automation, risk tracking, and quality.
• Coordinate with stakeholders (managers, developers, UI/UX, product managers) to ensure requirements are met
• Manage project scoping, scheduling, and progress reporting to executives
• Ensure code life-cycle accountability and maintain design/technical documentation
• Contribute to product direction through collaboration with Product Management, Marketing, and Sales
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and team development
• Oversee department operations, performance management, and growth in collaboration with HR/education/leadership
• Engage with upper management on major decisions and complex issues

• Experience: 5-8 years in IT in Banking/Insurance; 8+ years programming or testing
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or related
• Experience delivering high-quality, scalable, secure code
• CI/CD and DevOps experience (GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Agile practices
• Proficiency in SAS, Python, Go, JavaScript, React
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
• Certificates in Risk Management and Accounting Standards valued
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills
• Ability to translate complex tech/business info
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Key requirements

• 5-8 years in IT within Banking or Insurance
• 8+ years programming or testing experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Math, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or related
• CI/CD and DevOps using GitHub, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar
• Experience with Jira and Confluence
• Experience with Agile practices
