Embedded Software/Firmware Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will design, develop and test embedded software for specialist engineering applications, contributing across the full development lifecycle from concept to full product development. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team and explore new technologies to boost capability and performance. The role offers opportunities to broaden into FPGA, electronics and related domains, solving challenging technical problems. You will work in a security-conscious, regulated environment with a strong focus on research, prototyping and practical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded software and firmware for specialist engineering applications
• Contribute to research, feasibility studies, prototyping and technology development
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team spanning software, FPGA and hardware engineering
• Investigate new technologies and identify opportunities to improve technical capability and performance
• Support the development of solutions from initial concept through to implementation
• Apply innovative thinking to complex engineering challenges
• Contribute to secure handling of information and compliance with regulatory requirements
