An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Safety & Compliance Manager to join a major industrial processing and energy operation in the Glasgow area.
This is a key operational leadership role within a highly regulated environment, focused on driving a strong safety culture, maintaining environmental and compliance standards, and supporting the safe and efficient operation of a large-scale processing facility.
This is a predominantly operational, “boots on the ground” position where visible leadership, workforce engagement, and proactive safety management are essential.
The RoleReporting directly into the Plant Leadership Team, the Safety & Compliance Manager will act as the site lead for all Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance activities across the facility.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading site health, safety and compliance activities across a complex operational environmentManaging and continually improving safety systems, procedures, SSOW and risk assessmentsSupporting compliance with environmental permits, ISO standards and regulatory obligationsLeading incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actionsMonitoring contractor activities and ensuring compliance during maintenance and shutdown activitiesDelivering audits, inspections and compliance reviews across the siteDriving behavioural safety initiatives and promoting a proactive safety cultureDelivering toolbox talks, training and workforce engagement activitiesSupporting planned outages, shutdowns and maintenance activities from a safety and compliance perspectiveProducing KPI reports, compliance data and site performance reportingLiaising with regulators, inspectors and internal stakeholders as requiredWorking closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to support safe and efficient plant performance

Proven Health & Safety leadership within a complex operational environmentStrong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirementsExperience with ISO45001 and awareness of ISO14001 / ISO9001 standardsExperience leading investigations, audits and contractor management activitiesStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsOperationally focused mindset with a visible leadership styleNEBOSH qualification (or equivalent)Ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering and Maintenance teams
