Cyber Security Cloud Engineer

Overview

In this role you will protect and enhance MAG’s AWS cloud environment by enforcing security controls, configurations and PCI DSS-aligned practices. You will collaborate with engineering, architecture and risk teams to identify risks, improve monitoring and threat detection, and keep the cloud platform secure and compliant. You will lead vulnerability management, manage identity and access controls, and support incident investigations. As a trusted cloud security specialist, you will promote secure-by-design principles and document outcomes to drive continuous improvement across the cloud estate.

Responsibilities

• Protect and enhance the AWS cloud environment with aligned security controls
• Identify and remediate security risks across the cloud estate
• Strengthen cloud monitoring and threat detection capabilities
• Lead cloud-focused vulnerability management
• Oversee identity and access controls within cloud environments
• Support incident investigations and response
• Provide expert guidance to stakeholders and maintain clear documentation and reporting
• Promote secure-by-design principles and drive continuous improvement

Key requirements

• Previous AWS experience
• Degree in information systems or computer science or equivalent work experience
• AWS certification (ideal)
• Knowledge of information risk concepts and security controls
• Familiarity with information security frameworks (NIST, PCI DSS, ISO27001, Mitre, ITIL)
• Understanding of security policies, processes, procedures and standards and how to embed them in business processes
