Java Developer with Kotlin (Prime Brokerage Technology)

Overview

In this role, you will engineer components for Citi’s Prime Brokerage platform, supporting a global financial network. You’ll lead an agile team, shape architecture, and drive quality through SDLC and DevOps practices. You’ll translate complex business needs into technical specs and mentor others to deliver scalable, reliable systems. Responsibilities

• Own and develop core components for the Prime Brokerage platform using Java/Kotlin
• Provide technical leadership to an agile team and promote best practices in coding, testing, and CI/CD
• Advance quality and efficiency in SDLC and DevOps using metrics like DORA
• Lead system architecture, design, planning, and estimation with technical teams and business stakeholders
• Convert complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications
• Oversee creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation
• Identify, mitigate, and resolve complex risks across the software lifecycle
• Manage production support, analyze issue patterns, and drive performance, scalability, and reliability improvements

Key requirements

• Java & Test-Driven Development are essential
• Experience with additional technologies such as Kotlin, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Kafka/Solace/TIBCO, SQL Server/Trino/Mongo/S3, OpenTelemetry/ELK/Grafana
• Proven Apps Development or systems analysis experience
• Experience managing and delivering successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one Applications Development area
• Ability to adapt priorities and demonstrate leadership and project management
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred
