Are you an experienced Children’s Social Worker looking to make a real difference for children and young people in care?

Wakefield’s Children in Care Service is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to join their supportive team, working with looked-after children and those subject to care proceedings. This is an excellent opportunity to undertake meaningful work that promotes stability, permanence and positive outcomes for vulnerable children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of looked-after children and children subject to care proceedings.
• Complete statutory duties in line with the Children Act 1989 and relevant legislation.
• Develop and implement effective care plans that support positive outcomes and permanency.
• Work collaboratively with families, carers and multi-agency partners.
• Prepare high-quality court reports and attend hearings where required.
• Ensure children receive the highest standard of safeguarding and support.

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience within Children in Care and court work.
• Strong assessment, report-writing and relationship-building skills.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practice.
