BWC Specialist, Orthopedic Clinic – Sheffield Village

What You Will Do

• Acts as a subject matter expert regarding workers compensation benefits and assists patients with navigation of BWC process, payments on physician and hospital billing. Acquires approval for DME equipment.
• Provides assistance for Orthopedic Surgery patients guiding them in identification/navigation of services and resources available within UHHS and in the community for workers comp injuries.
• Develops effective working relationships with UH colleagues, physicians, APP’s, other service providers. Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patient/customers.
• Provides competent, efficient and caring services to Orthopedic Surgery patients.
• Coordinates interdisciplinary functions of medical and ancillary services to meet needs of Orthopedic Surgery patients.
• Takes responsibility for self-development and supports a learning environment.
• Demonstrates commitment to the mission and values of UH.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
