What you`ll be doing
Data has the power to transform how we serve our customers, make decisions and shape the future of our business. At Secure Trust Bank, we’re investing in a modern, enterprise-wide data platform and are looking for an exceptional Head of Data Engineering to lead this journey. This is a unique opportunity to build and develop a high-performing team, drive the evolution of our Azure Databricks platform, and create trusted, accessible data products that deliver real value across the Bank. Working with senior stakeholders from across the business, you’ll play a key role in turning our Enterprise Data Strategy into reality, helping to create a strong, governed data foundation that supports everything from regulatory reporting and operational excellence to advanced analytics and future AI capabilities.
What we`re looking for
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing Data Engineering teams within a complex organisation.
- Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, cloud data platforms and modern lakehouse architectures.
- Deep understanding of data engineering best practices, including ETL/ELT, data pipelines, orchestration and data product delivery.
- Experience embedding data governance, quality, lineage, security and auditability into engineering solutions.
- Ability to translate data and technology strategy into tangible business value, customer outcomes and commercial impact.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience managing third-party suppliers and leading the transition from partner-led delivery to internal ownership and capability.
- A track record of delivering results in a regulated environment, balancing strategic change, operational priorities and resource constraints.
