Due to the location of our projects, it is essential that you hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Where possible, we will place you on a project close to home but this is not always possible. Therefore, you must be willing to lodge away from home during the working week, in which case we have a subsistence policy in place.
If you are a 2nd year student studying a Civil Engineering degree and are looking for a placement from 2027/28 working for a main contractor in the construction industry -, this is a fantastic and career-enriching job role for you at VolkerFitzpatrick. Placements start in September 2027 and run through to July 2028., Our minimum 40-week industry placement programmes focus on on-the-job learning, to complement your university course. Placements focus on technical skills and the progression towards increasing responsibility. You will learn through on-site experience, your team, line manager and formal training courses.
