Apply for the Head of Delivery
Location: Theale
Job Description:

Vision: To be the UK’s leading digital infrastructure partner, enabling a fully connected future

Mission: Deliver reliable, high quality site access, infrastructure and services that support our customers’ evolving connectivity needs.

About us

For almost two decades, Cornerstone’s infrastructure has quietly supported the UK’s mobile networks. Whilst we continue to strengthen that foundation and extend its reach, we’re in an exciting period of acceleration and product development that will see us enable more connectivity and compute to more communities and industries across the UK.

If you’re an experienced programme leader who thrives on complexity, enjoys bringing people together and knows how to turn ambitious plans into successful outcomes, this could be a great opportunity.

We’re looking for a Head of Delivery to take ownership of major, business-critical client programmes, leading them from demand and planning through to delivery and commercial performance.

This is a high-profile role where you’ll work across Cornerstone, its customers, suppliers and senior leadership teams to create alignment, tackle complexity and ensure programmes deliver what they promise.

Why this role matters

Our programmes sit at the heart of delivering for our customers and achieving our wider business ambitions.

You’ll have genuine end-to-end ownership, ensuring complex programmes are well planned, commercially sound and successfully delivered. You’ll connect the dots between customer demand, operational delivery, commercial performance and governance, making sure teams remain focused on the outcomes that matter.

Beyond successful delivery today, you’ll also help shape what comes next, identifying opportunities to improve how we work, strengthen customer relationships and expand our portfolio over the longer term.

What you’ll do

Take end-to-end accountability for multiple projects and programme workstreams, ensuring scope, milestones and business outcomes are delivered against agreed plans.

Turn strategy into action

Build and manage robust programme plans that translate strategic priorities and customer demand into clear, achievable delivery outcomes.

Lead cross-functional teams and build strong relationships across customers, suppliers, internal teams and senior leadership, creating alignment around shared goals.

Influence at the highest level

Provide clear, concise programme updates and recommendations to executive stakeholders, with exposure extending to CEO and Board-level reporting.

Take accountability for programme P&L, forecasting and cost control, working closely with Finance and Commercial teams to deliver against financial targets.

Stay ahead of risk

Own programme RAID management, identifying and resolving risks, actions, issues and dependencies before they impact delivery.

Lead resources and suppliers

Oversee resource forecasting, deployment and performance while holding suppliers and delivery partners accountable for their commitments.

Drive performance and improvement

Create a high-performance culture through clear objectives, constructive feedback, regular performance reviews and a relentless focus on continuous improvement.

Deliver with confidence

Ensure programmes operate within the right commercial, contractual, regulatory and compliance frameworks, including Health & Safety, Environmental, Business Continuity and Information Security requirements.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for a commercially minded leader who can operate confidently in a complex, fast-moving environment.

You’ll bring:

  • Significant senior-level programme delivery experience, ideally within telecoms, infrastructure or another large-scale regulated environment.
  • Experience leading large, complex programmes where priorities, stakeholders and requirements can change quickly.
  • Telecommunications experience and an understanding of the commercial and operational drivers of complex delivery businesses.
  • Experience working within a joint venture, or an organisation with complex shareholder and customer relationships.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience owning budgets, forecasting and ideally full programme P&L.
  • A track record of influencing and building credibility with executive-level stakeholders, customers, suppliers and partners.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • The ability to cut through complexity, get to the heart of an issue and make confident, pragmatic decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex challenges into clear messages and realistic solutions.
  • Strong analytical capability, including advanced numeracy and Excel skills.
  • A high level of personal ownership and the confidence to operate autonomously while managing competing priorities.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, always looking for better ways to deliver for customers and the business.

In return, we offer

  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunity
  • 30 days annual leave
  • Competitive pension scheme and life insurance
  • Hybrid working (3 days per week in Theale)
  • Private medical insurance including dental and optical cover
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Electric Car scheme
  • Refer-a-friend programme

Our commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) is fundamental to our success. We strive to cultivate an inclusive environment where every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered. By embracing unique perspectives and experiences, we drive innovation and drive our organisation forward, therefore, we recognise the importance of welcoming applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

We want to ensure everyone is able to present their best self throughout the recruitment process so if you require any adjustments, please let us know.
