Telecommunications Solutions Architect

About the Role

Our client, a leading innovator in the telecommunications sector based in East London, Eastern Cape , is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Telecommunications Solutions Architect. This senior role is responsible for designing comprehensive and scalable telecommunications solutions that meet complex business requirements. The architect will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to understand needs, translate them into technical designs, and guide the implementation process. Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end telecommunications solutions, including voice, data, video, and mobility services.
• Collaborate with sales teams and clients to gather requirements and understand business objectives.
• Develop high-level and detailed technical designs, proposals, and architecture documentation.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms to build robust solutions.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-effective.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay abreast of emerging telecommunications technologies and industry trends.
• Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to clients and stakeholders.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to ensure successful solution implementation.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and service improvement.

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications, with a significant portion in solutions architecture or pre-sales engineering.
• Deep understanding of various telecommunications technologies (e.g., IP networking, VoIP, MPLS, SD-WAN, 4G/5G, cloud communication platforms).
• Proven experience in designing complex enterprise-level communication solutions.
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
• Experience with specific vendors or technologies (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Microsoft Teams) is a plus.
