Ready to shape a global transformation portfolio across Private Bank and Wealth Operations?
Why HSBC
HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
The Role
As Private Banking and Wealth Operations Change Execution Director you’ll own a global portfolio of high-value transformation across Private Bank and Wealth Operations, based in Whiteley. The focus is strategic change – setting direction for digitisation, automation and simplification then translating it into practical delivery that improves client satisfaction and colleague experience. Working across Product, Transformation, Technology, Risk and market teams you’ll shape business cases, build roadmaps and steer investment choices to convert opportunity into measurable outcomes. Success is defined through sustainable cost reductions, productivity gains and improved scalability across markets. You’ll align outcomes to Future State Architecture, so solutions are globally consistent and replicable while strengthening the operational risk environment. This is a senior role with visibility across stakeholders and accountability for turning strategy into controlled, sustainable change.
What you’ll be doing
- Identify and prioritise transformation opportunities using end-to-end process analysis, client insight and operational data across cost, capacity and operational risk
- Set the digitisation, automation and simplification agenda and translate strategy into process and technology solutions that improve client and colleague outcomes
- Deliver measurable cost, productivity, capacity and FTE benefits through robust business cases, clear roadmaps and disciplined benefits realisation
- Design solutions for replicability and promote globally consistent processes across markets, adapting where client, legal or regulatory requirements demand it
- Act as the operational process and technology expert across areas in scope to remove duplication and maximise value from existing and emerging capabilities
- Enable growth ambitions by improving scalability and maximising operational capacity through end-to-end client journey optimisation across markets
- Establish governance, prioritisation and performance measures for the portfolio including transparent reporting on dependencies, risks, delivery and benefits
- Embed sustainable change by defining accountable owners, strengthening process management disciplines and ensuring controlled adoption of new ways of working
- Simplify and standardise complex front-to-back processes while protecting suitability, conduct, regulatory and operational control requirements
- Build trusted relationships with senior global and market stakeholders to influence investment decisions and create shared accountability for outcomes
What we’re looking for
- Bring extensive senior-level experience in financial services with strong knowledge of Operations Wealth Management
- Demonstrate deep understanding of investment products including operational lifecycle, servicing requirements and risks across complex instruments
- Show proven success delivering strategic, end-to-end transformation including digitisation, automation and simplification across multiple markets or business lines
- Apply strong process analysis and client journey capability to convert pain points, control weaknesses, cost drivers and capacity constraints into a prioritised improvement pipeline
- Demonstrate experience managing agile delivery and building business cases with measurable cost, productivity, capacity and FTE outcomes through disciplined implementation
- Apply sound knowledge of investment-related risk, compliance, conduct, internal controls, audit and regulatory expectations in a highly regulated environment
- Use strong understanding of automation, AI, workflow, data and emerging technologies to select practical solutions that scale and can be replicated globally
- Evidence effective partnering across Product, Operations, Transformation, Technology, Risk and market teams to deliver cross‑functional change through Value Streams
- Interpret process, client, risk, cost and capacity data to support prioritisation, portfolio trade‑offs and investment governance decisions
- Bring strong commercial judgement and financial acumen including workforce planning and efficiency‑save targets
Turning strategy into outcomes
This role sits at the point where global strategy becomes measurable operational improvement. If you want to set direction for global change and see it land in day‑to‑day operations, we’d welcome your application.
