Job Description:

Step into this Cleared Intelligence Analyst role and build something that matters in Defence & Government.

Scotland’s defence sector has quietly become one of the UK’s busiest. This SME sits inside that growth, delivering cleared intelligence support to government and defence customers from its Glasgow base. The work is sensitive, the standards are exacting, and the company has built a reputation over years of consistent delivery rather than flashy claims.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Produce all-source intelligence assessments for defence and government stakeholders, working to tight deadlines and exacting accuracy standards
  • Analyse raw intelligence data and turn it into clear, actionable reporting for decision-makers
  • Brief senior stakeholders on findings, trends, and emerging risks across your assigned portfolio
  • Maintain rigorous handling of classified material in line with government security protocols
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including analysts, technical specialists, and liaison officers, to validate findings
  • Support ongoing development of analytical tradecraft and contribute to process improvements within the team

Here are the skills you’ll need:

  • Active SC or DV clearance, or eligibility to obtain it, is essential for this Cleared Intelligence Analyst position
  • Proven experience in an intelligence analysis role, ideally within defence, government, or a related cleared environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. You’ll need to brief complex findings simply
  • Sound analytical judgement and the discipline to work methodically under pressure
  • Familiarity with intelligence cycle principles and structured analytical techniques
  • A collaborative mindset. Much of this role depends on working well within a small, tight-knit team

Key perks and benefits:

  • £37,000 to £47,000 depending on experience, plus a bonus scheme
  • Private medical insurance and solid pension contributions
  • Generous annual leave with flexible working built around office-based delivery in Glasgow
  • Clear progression paths within a growing, established SME
  • Genuine investment in professional development, including funded training where relevant

Why pursue a career in Defence & Government?

Defence and government work doesn’t follow the usual commercial cycles. Budgets are long-term, missions are real, and the demand for cleared analysts keeps climbing as threats grow more complex. Glasgow has become a genuine hub for this kind of work, with a cluster of defence and security employers putting the city on the map. Few sectors reward precision and integrity quite like this one.
