Head of Machine Learning

Retained Search – Head of Machine Learning | London | Series A

We’re hiring a Head of Machine Learning to join a fast growing ML startup in London. The company is backed by some of the top VCs in the world.

The role

• Lead a team of 10+ ML engineers and researchers
• Report to the co-founders and work as a peer to the engineering and product leaders
• Set the ML roadmap across model development, evaluation and deployment
• Grow the team and the bar for quality as the product scales

You’ll likely have

• Led ML teams that shipped models into real products, ideally consumer-facing
• Hands‑on depth in modern LLM work, such as fine‑tuning, post‑training, evals or conversational systems
• The judgement to balance research ambition with what users actually need
• Founder or early‑stage experience (a strong plus)
