We’re working with a leading global trading organisation undergoing significant growth and transformation across its technology landscape.
They are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Lead to help shape the future of a business-critical Data Technology Platform.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineering leader who enjoys building high‑performing teams, driving engineering best practice, and delivering scalable cloud‑native solutions within a complex enterprise environment.
The Role:
As the Software Engineering Lead, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for developing and enhancing a strategic data platform that underpins key business operations across front, middle and back‑office functions.
Working closely with product managers, architects and business stakeholders, you’ll help define technical direction, improve engineering standards and ensure the successful delivery of modern, scalable technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of software engineers.
- Drive engineering excellence, best practices and continuous improvement.
- Own technical delivery across a portfolio of strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
- Contribute to architecture, design and technical decision‑making.
- Promote modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Support the adoption of cloud‑native technologies and platform engineering principles.
- Foster a collaborative, high‑performance engineering culture.
Requirements for the Role:
- Proven experience leading software engineering teams within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong background in software development using one or more of C# / .NET, Python, Node.js, React
- Experience building and supporting large‑scale data platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Azure cloud technologies.
- Commercial experience with Snowflake and modern data architectures.
- Exposure to API‑driven and distributed systems.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for engineering excellence.
Highly Desirable Experience
- Financial services, asset management, banking or other regulated industries.
- Databricks, Data Factory or broader Azure data services.
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Exposure to React or modern front‑end technologies.
