About the Role
You’re a Senior Fire Engineer who wants to take on more responsibility—leading projects, working directly with clients, and contributing to how fire engineering is delivered within a growing team. At Stantec, you’ll join an expanding Fire Engineering capability within our Buildings business, working nationally from any of our UK offices. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary environment, giving you the opportunity to contribute to complex projects while developing your influence across design, delivery, and team development.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of fire engineering strategies across a diverse portfolio of projects, working from concept through to construction and handover.
- Ensure solutions are technically sound, coordinated, and aligned with regulatory requirements, including performance-based and code-compliant design.
- Contribute to technical delivery, supporting modelling inputs, coordinating with other disciplines, and maintaining quality across outputs.
- Take on increased responsibility in leading projects and guiding design decisions as your role develops.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders, supporting meetings, technical discussions, and project coordination.
- Support business development activities, including supporting bids and identifying opportunities to strengthen client relationships.
- Support the development of junior engineers—sharing knowledge, mentoring, and contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Your Impact
You will contribute to the design and delivery of buildings that are safer, more resilient, and aligned with evolving fire safety requirements. Your work will help clients navigate complex regulatory and technical challenges, delivering practical and effective solutions.
Internally, your impact will be reflected in the development of team capability. By supporting others and contributing to technical standards, you’ll help improve the overall quality and consistency of delivery while building your own leadership experience.
About You
- Experience delivering fire engineering strategies for complex buildings
- Confident communicator, able to present technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders
- Experience working within a consultancy environment on multidisciplinary projects
- Interested in contributing to business development and client engagement
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working toward chartership with IFE or an equivalent organization
