We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic General Assistant to join the Acorn Reuse team. This varied, hands‑on role supports the day‑to‑day running of the site, including sorting and pricing donated items, and restocking the shop floor.
This is a physically demanding position, involving the regular lifting and moving of heavy and bulky items, including bags and boxes of donated goods and furniture around the work area and shop floor. You may also help with loading and unloading customer vehicles and Acorn vans.
A key part of the role involves interacting with customers, so you must be confident, approachable, and able to provide friendly, helpful service across all areas of Acorn. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, volunteers, and clients with disabilities is essential.
