Gate Maker & Trade Counter Sales Assistant

Location: St Neots

Hours: Full-time, 7:30am-4:30pm.

Start Date: ASAP

Gate Manufacturing & Workshop Duties

• Manufacture timber gates to a high standard, including standard and bespoke designs.




• Accurately measure, cut, assemble and finish timber components.




• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.




• Ensure all gates are manufactured to the company’s quality standards.




• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.




• Assist with stock management and material preparation.




• Work efficiently to meet production targets and customer deadlines.

Trade Counter Sales & Customer Service

• Serve trade and retail customers in a professional and friendly manner.




• Provide advice on fencing products, timber gates, posts, panels, fixings and accessories.




• Process customer orders, quotations and payments.




• Build strong relationships with existing and new customers.

Skills & Experience Required

• Ideally previous experience in carpentry, joinery, gate manufacturing or timber production is desirable.




• Ideally confident using woodworking machinery and hand tools.




• Good practical skills with strong attention to detail.




• Ability to work accurately from measurements.




• Good communication and customer service skills.




• Confident dealing with customers face-to-face and over the telephone.




• Basic computer skills for processing orders and quotations.




• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.




• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive attitude.




• Good understanding of workplace health and safety.

Experience within the fencing or timber industry would be a strong advantage.

The ideal candidate will be practical, organised and approachable. This is a Temporary to Permanent Position.
