Electrician

Southwell Electrical Services are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ on-site experience and be confident carrying out electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and fault finding across domestic and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems in domestic, commercial, and industrial environments.
• Install and connect wiring systems, containment, lighting, power distribution, and associated equipment.
• Fault-find and diagnose electrical issues efficiently, implementing effective repairs.
• Conduct electrical inspection, testing, and certification in accordance with current regulations.
• Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and relevant health and safety legislation.
• Complete works to a high standard, ensuring quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and manage workload effectively.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical engineering.
• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Desirable Requirements

• Inspection & Testing Qualification (City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent).
• IPAF certification.
• PASMA certification.
• Emergency First Aid at Work qualification.
• Safeguarding certification.
• ECS Gold Card or equivalent industry accreditation.
• Experience working in commercial, industrial, education, or public sector environments.
