About the role

Help Shape the Future of Highway Asset Management in Cambridgeshire

Do you thrive on turning data into decisions? Are you passionate about digital innovation, asset management, and improving public services through technology?

At Cambridgeshire County Council, we’re looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking Asset Systems Engineer to lead the development and delivery of our highway asset management systems and help shape how we manage one of the county’s most valuable public assets. This role leads the asset systems function, supports data-driven investment decisions, and drives continuous improvement across the highways service.

Why This Role Matters

Every year, critical decisions are made about maintaining and improving Cambridgeshire’s highways network. Those decisions rely on high-quality data, effective systems, and insightful analysis.

As our Asset Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of that process.

You’ll help ensure that asset systems provide reliable information, support strategic investment decisions, improve service performance, and enable the Council to deliver value for money for residents and communities across Cambridgeshire.

This is a unique opportunity to combine engineering, digital technology, data analysis, leadership, and innovation in a role that delivers real-world impact
