Compliance and Reporting Officer

• Support Council services with purchasing and receipting processes
• Resolve complex queries across financial systems
• Produce reports
• Prepare statutory reports with the Compliance and Reporting Manager
• Analyse performance data to identify trends
• Suggest service improvements
• Use benchmarking data from other authorities to improve delivery
• Support transactional financial year-end processes
• Advise management of significant failures in control procedures
• Take responsibility for remedial actions when standard policies are disputed
• Update policies or user guides
• Resolve issues with minimal supervision

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of income and payment processes, ideally within a large organisation
• Strong analytical skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to convert raw data and findings into persuasive, evidence-based arguments
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to build effective relationships across finance and non-finance teams
• Ability to update policies or user guides
• Ability to use own judgment to resolve issues with minimal supervision
• Ability to work from the office 3 days a week
