Commercial Finance & Project Controls Manager | Energy Infrastructure
London 3-4 days per week in the office
We’re recruiting for a growing energy infrastructure business seeking a commercially minded finance and project controls professional to strengthen oversight across its project portfolio.
Combining financial control, PMO and commercial operations, you’ll work closely with senior leadership, project teams, finance and external advisors. You’ll oversee an existing contractor team comprising a scheduler, cost controller and two contract managers.
The role
- Lead project and portfolio cost reporting, budgets, forecasting and cash flow visibility.
- Track commitments, forecast final costs, commercial exposures and contingency use.
- Support funding requirements and lender reporting.
- Oversee purchase-to-pay controls, purchase orders and invoice approval workflows.
- Coordinate reporting across schedule, risk, change and project delivery.
- Manage external consultant and advisor commitments, costs and deliverables.
- Improve systems, governance and data quality to give leadership reliable information for decisions.
About you
You’ll bring strong financial and commercial acumen alongside experience in project controls, PMO or portfolio governance.
Your background could be in commercial finance, project accounting, cost control or commercially focused project controls, with hands‑on ownership of project budgets and forecasts.
Experience in energy infrastructure, battery storage, substations, onshore wind, solar PV or power plants would be particularly relevant.
You’ll be comfortable leading specialist contractors, challenging financial information and building practical processes in an entrepreneurial environment.
