Project Reporting Manager – Defence

Overview

In this role you will drive performance reporting and project controls improvements for complex defence and infrastructure programmes. You will lead a team to deliver consistent, value-driven reporting and define KPIs to support senior decision making. You will implement and roll out reporting processes, interfaces, and systems, ensuring alignment with client needs and security requirements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, coach clients and junior staff, and contribute to high-impact projects that shape delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of performance reporting and project controls processes
• Develop performance and reporting management plans based on project requirements
• Lead the rollout of reporting process changes and promote benefits to project teams
• Oversee selection, administration, and maintenance of reporting systems
• Sponsor KPI and performance measures definitions
• Lead and mentor project controls/reporting professionals to deliver meaningful client-ready insights
• Present recovery recommendations to stakeholders and senior management
• Provide training and coaching on performance reporting practices
• Carry out line management activities including career development and performance reviews

Key requirements

• Experience in reporting on infrastructure-related projects (engineering/defence/utilities/energy)
• Experience configuring and setting up project reporting systems
• Project controls related qualification (PMQ / Project Planning & Controls / EVM / Risk Management)
• Experience using data analysis tools (Power BI / Tableau / QlikView)
• Experience leading diverse teams
