Job Description:
We’re recruiting on behalf of an established engineering fabrication business in Birmingham for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator Welder to join their busy workshop on a temp-to-perm basis, with a permanent position offered to the right candidate after a qualifying period.
This is a varied, hands-on sheet metal role covering a genuine mix of fabrication work no repetitive production-line output. As a fabricator welder, you’ll be working across stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel, producing quality fabricated components and assemblies from engineering drawings.
What you’ll be doing:
- Fabricating in stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel
- TIG welding (particularly stainless steel and aluminium)
- MIG welding
- Sheet metal folding and forming
- Guillotine cutting
- Press brake operation
- Rolling/forming sheet materials
- Working accurately from engineering drawings
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Fabricator in an industrial/engineering environment
- Strong TIG welding skills, ideally on stainless and aluminium
- Confident MIG welding ability
- Experience with press brake, guillotine and folding equipment
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings unsupervised
- Good attention to detail and a quality-first approach
