Overview

As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Security, you will lead the technical vision and architecture for mission-critical security systems that protect customers and data. You will build a greenfield product to synthesize application metadata for security insights and partner with cross-functional teams across Amazon’s businesses. You will deliver scalable software that reduces manual security processes and enables rapid responses to risks at scale. Responsibilities

• Guide engineering and business decisions with leadership to influence developer experience
• Build a new product leveraging multi-source application metadata to present human-readable security knowledge
• Iterate rapidly with software and security teams across Amazon
• Develop scalable code that reduces manual security processes by 50% or more
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate security requirements into high-performance solutions
• Prototype and implement security tools protecting millions of customers and billions in transactions
• Work in a fast-paced environment where ideas move from concept to production quickly
• Contribute to protecting Amazon customer data and system resilience

Key requirements

• Experience in professional software development (non-internship)
• Experience programming in a modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations
• Strong verbal and written communication, self-driven, able to collaborate with talented engineers
