IT Project Manager

Overview

In this IT Project Manager role, you will lead mid-to-large scale technical programmes end-to-end from Coventry. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable delivery. The position emphasizes governance, stakeholder engagement, and flexible delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes. You will mentor peers and contribute to continuous delivery improvements, in a collaborative, results-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Delivery leadership and mentorship across medium to large initiatives
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with business leaders and vendors
• Develop business cases, scopes, PIDs, budgets, and benefits tracking
• Governance and PMO health: produce governance docs and health reports
• Choose and apply appropriate delivery method (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
• Plan and manage schedules, dependencies, and resources
• Identify and manage risks and change control across scope, schedule and spend
• Oversee testing, quality gates, and handover to operations
• Facilitate post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement

Key requirements

• 5+ years of PM experience delivering mid-to-large IT projects end-to-end
• Broad technical acumen across software, infrastructure, applications, and systems integration
• PRINCE2, APM, or equivalent project delivery credentials
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Planner, Azure DevOps or similar tools
• Pragmatic, collaborative leadership with ability to motivate teams
• Strong stakeholder influence and business-value translation skills
• Open to diverse industry backgrounds (financial services, retail, tech, etc.)
• Experience guiding cross-functional teams including BAs, engineers, and developers
• Strong risk management and change control capabilities
• Ability to work in a hybrid capacity and adapt to governance requirements
