Job Description:

Pyramid Travel Products Ltd | Kelso, Scottish Borders

About Us

Pyramid Travel Products Ltd is a growing UK manufacturer of insect repellents, travel health and outdoor products, best known for our TREK brand.

We’re an ambitious, independent business entering an exciting period of growth, with investment in new manufacturing premises, expanding UK and international markets, and continued product development.

We’re a small, close-knit team where everyone makes a genuine contribution. We’re now looking for an experienced, proactive Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day operations and help us build the systems, processes and capabilities needed for our next stage of growth.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take responsibility for the smooth running of our operational activities, from purchasing and production planning through to customer orders, stock management and fulfilment.

This is a varied, hands-on position combining operational management with practical day-to-day responsibilities. You’ll lead our production team, coordinate suppliers and customers, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency as the business grows.

You’ll have the autonomy to make decisions, solve problems and make a real impact on how the business operates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and dispatched on time.
  • Plan and coordinate manufacturing schedules, resources and stock availability.
  • Oversee purchasing, supplier relationships, stock control and inventory management.
  • Lead, support and develop our small production team.
  • Coordinate customer service, order administration and fulfilment activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and processes within our ERP system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Monitor operational performance and introduce practical improvements to systems, processes and efficiency.
  • Support health and safety, quality standards and regulatory compliance across operational activities.
  • Work closely with the Managing Director and wider team to support business growth.
  • About You

We’re looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, getting things done and being part of a growing business.

    You’ll ideally bring:

    • Experience in operations management, ideally within manufacturing, production or distribution.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Experience in purchasing, stock management, production planning or order fulfilment.
    • Confidence leading and supporting a small team.
    • Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
    • A practical, commercially aware approach to problem-solving.
    • The ability to work independently, take initiative and see tasks through to completion.
    • A positive attitude towards change, continuous improvement and new technology.

Experience in chemical manufacturing, consumer products or regulated industries would be advantageous but is not essential.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who shares our values: Get Things Done, Know Your Stuff, Serve the Customer First, Growth Mindset and Commercially Aware.

    What We Offer

    • Salary of £40,000–£50,000, depending on experience.
    • A permanent, full-time position based in Kelso.
    • 28 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays.
    • Company pension scheme.
    • Private medical insurance after three years’ service.
    • Staff discount and on-site parking.
    • The opportunity to play a key role in shaping a growing independent business.
    • Direct involvement in operational decisions, business improvements and future development.

    Interested?

If you’re an experienced operations professional who enjoys variety, responsibility and the opportunity to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
