Network Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own the design and architecture of complex enterprise network solutions for clients. You will collaborate with clients, stakeholders and delivery teams to create scalable, resilient, and secure networks that align with business goals and growth plans. You’ll translate business needs into technical designs, produce high-quality documentation, and provide technical leadership throughout delivery. Strong communication will be essential as you present recommendations and justify design decisions to diverse audiences. Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and requirements workshops with clients to capture needs
• Design enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN and security solutions for greenfield and existing environments
• Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs) plus topology diagrams and implementation docs
• Perform capacity planning, resilience assessments and technology roadmapping
• Develop migration/transformation strategies with minimal disruption
• Design wireless solutions using Ekahau and related survey methods
• Create Bills of Materials (BoMs), statements of work and technical proposals
• Provide governance and design assurance throughout delivery phases
• Evaluate new networking technologies to improve scalability, performance, security and efficiency
• Collaborate with project managers, delivery engineers and vendors; act as SME during engagements

Key requirements

• Extensive experience designing enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN and Wireless
• Strong understanding of routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, VRRP, STP, segmentation)
• Experience designing secure architectures (firewalls, VPNs, NAC, network access controls)
• Proven ability to produce professional design documentation (HLDs/LLDs, implementation plans, recommendations)
• Experience conducting network audits, health checks and assessments
• Solid knowledge of enterprise wireless technologies and Ekahau-based surveys and reporting
• Experience creating technical proposals and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, resilient technical solutions
• Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and consultancy skills
