Overview

In this role at Devonport Royal Dockyard, you will help maintain operational readiness by handling specialist cleaning equipment to ensure facilities meet high safety and cleanliness standards. You’ll contribute to the broader engineering and nuclear operations, supporting submarines and naval assets. The position involves hands-on work on site, with strict adherence to health and safety rules, and offers a chance to work at a critical defence site with a strong safety culture. Responsibilities

• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment to maintain plant and facilities
• Clean and decontaminate sensitive areas across the site
• Operate industrial cleaning machinery safely and efficiently
• Follow strict health and safety protocols at all times

Key requirements

• Willingness to work at height and in confined spaces
• Positive attitude towards health and safety, with the confidence to challenge unsafe practices
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow detailed procedures
• Full clean UK driving licence
• Counterbalance FLT licence is desirable (training will be provided)
• MEWP operator certification or willingness to train
• Security Check (SC) clearance
