Application Developer / Software Engineer (AVP)

Overview

In this role you will deliver critical components of the Strategic Swaps Platform, focusing on high-quality Java/Kotlin software within an Agile team. You’ll drive automated testing, CI/CD, and production support, partnering with leadership to scale solutions for Prime Brokerage. You’ll influence design, documentation, and best practices, while mentoring junior developers. This is a growth-focused tech role in Citi’s Prime Brokerage domain.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of Swap Processing components (Java/Kotlin)
• Developer-led automated testing with emphasis on TDD
• Work within an Agile team with CI/CD focus
• Participate in design, planning and estimation discussions
• Analyze work and break into technical tasks
• Create and maintain project and technical documentation
• Collaborate with management to integrate functions and define enhancements
• Identify opportunities for quality improvement of standards
• Resolve high-impact problems through analysis of processes
• Adopt architecture-aligned coding, testing, and implementation standards
• Develop knowledge of business-architecture-infrastructure integration
• Assist in production support and post-mortems
• Contribute to documentation and root-cause analysis
• Mentor junior developers and grads

Key requirements

• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
• Experience delivering software projects
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Java & Test-Driven Development are essential
